What a heritage!
My maternal Grandfather was a founder member of Durham Road Baptist Church, and all of the subsequent family accepted Jesus into their lives and joined the Church.
My Father was born a Jew and was converted during Army service in WW2. A Christian friend had been praying for him and he had the privilege of leading him to the Messiah. Consequently I was fortunate to be born into a loving Christian home, which welcomed and supported many people from all walks of life and nationalities. What a wonderful example to follow.
My trust in Jesus came about as a child. After a serious illness, I felt my life had been given back to me and my only response was to accept Jesus as my Saviour and Lord. I was baptised and became a member of the Church. My faith in action included teaching in Sunday School and leading Junior Christian Endeavour. After marriage to Lewis, although life was very busy, we hosted the young people’s group weekly. We have also been privileged to give hospitality to many people representing lots of different countries of the world.
Over the years I have had many joys and some sorrow but throughout all experiences of life I know that I am never alone. As Jesus promised to be always with me, and all who trust in Him.
